The Zevestivan Empire General Information:
Founded at the dawn of space travel for their people, the Empire has spanned the Sintar Cluster from their homeworld of Eurokan Prime longer then most of the races. Being a religious and naturally superstitious race, contact with extra terrestrial life did not bode well for the Zevestivan people. Deemed as demons from the heavens, the Empire initiated a campaign of xeno-genocide that has only recently been halted.
Zevestivan society is incredibly strict and focused heavily around their religion, which may be due in part with the Zevestivan life span being incredibly short before their entrance into medical science. The Zevestivan religion focuses on the worship of a deity being known as Monar Veloth, roughly translated as ‘snowy tooth’ in the human tongue. Failure to uphold values in the religion including the cleansing of alien races is believed to bring about a shorter life span, bad luck, and ultimately damnation to oneself. Because of this cultural trait the Zevestivan people have had no concern with translating or understanding their alien neighbors.
The Empire’s military is a highly effective and versatile force constructed to combat any firefight that may erupt. The presence of abundant resources within Zevestivan space has also helped to bolster the production of their war machine. The Empire’s fleet is notable in for having well rounded ships for most possible situations.
Faction LeadersMatriarch Kydora
Tactics: Nuclear Force
Leader Bonus:
- Zaun Dantis replaces Kam Darc Battleship
- Tactical Nuke research is pre-purchased
- Damage against Cruisers increased
Background: The first female to ever take control of the Empire, Matriarch Kydora is a witty and collective being. Though it is unconfirmed medically, there are instances of her showing severe signs of split personality disorder and bipolar symptoms. She is both a graceful and elegant figurehead, and a barbaric warmonger wrapped in one ugly reptilian package.
Strategy: Kydora is a beast, and her play style reflects it. Building the biggest and most powerful ships is her main focus, so players who love the sense of raw power will instantly take a liking to Kydora’s military assets. The Zaun Dantis Dreadnaught replaces the Kam Darc Battleship when playing as Kydora, and this giant behemoth suffers none of the penalties normal Battleships do. Destroyers essentially have no advantage over the Zaun Dantis, so Kydora players do not have much to fear in the way of Destroyer fleets. When all is said and done and Kydora is out on the field, you’ll get access to the
Vegator, her personal Dreadnaught. Armed with a Nuclear Detonator, this weapon can potentially clear out an entire enemy base with one well placed blast.
Half-Monarch Kolmahn
Tactics: Suicidal
Leader Bonus:
- All Cruisers and Battleships gain Self-Destruct
- Destroyers gain Ramming Speed
- Tactical Nuke replaced by Nuclear Kamikaze
Background: The oldest surviving member of the Empire’s twelve Half-Monarchs, Kolmahn directs much of the Empire’s religious affairs. Seeing Humans as a manifestation of the Zevestivan’s devil, he has a deep hatred for mankind and has been plotting a massive invasion to obliterate the entire species. He’s ferocious, close-minded, and utterly obsessed with accomplishing his goals.
Strategy: Kolmahn presents players with options that when used correctly can be devastating for their enemy. If used poorly, however, Kolmahn’s tactics have a habit of backfiring. All of Kolmahn’s warships have in some way or another a suicidal ability that can dish out tons of damage to whatever ship is unlucky enough to be the target. Zevestivan Destroyers can ram ships at full speed and cripple them completely, while Cruisers and Battleships can self destruct and wreck havoc on enemy formations. Careful use of these weapons is needed however, as blowing up your fleet can damage your own. Not to mention, you’ll have one less ship to use. It’s best to save your suicidal weapons for a ship that’s near death or if you know for certain that detonating your expensive Kam Darc will take out their expensive fleet of cruisers. When he’s ready, Kolmahn enters the fray with his personal Battleship, the
Korc Dantis. While it essentially is just a normal Battleship, it can detonate it’s nuclear reactors in a titanic kamikaze blast. If Kolmahn’s ship is near it’s end and stuck in an enemy base, detonating the core might be a wise move. As Kolmahn always says, he’ll burn in hell if he can take every Human with him.
Shizawa
Tactics: Anti-offense
Leader Bonus:
- Battleships gain anti-fighter weapons
- Anti-missile canons are pre-purchased
- Radiation Burst replaced with Thermal Torpedo
Background: Feared throughout the Zevestivan Empire, Shizawa serves as the Matriarch’s personal bounty hunter and assassin. None who have seen Shizawa in person have lived, and his ability to kill his target without notice is legendary. At least thirteen commanders that have been murdered in the V.R.A. military have been connected to Shizawa’s doings.
Strategy: Shizawa is a cunning individual unlike most of his race, and his play style reflects that. While most Zevestivan commanders are satisfied building bigger weapons and sending them straight into enemy forces, Shizawa has a unique understanding of instead making enemy weapons useless. A small fleet of Hak Zorgets under Shizawa’s command can permanently cripple the use of fighter craft for the enemy, as well as make missile and torpedo based weapons completely useless. Zevestivan cruisers also gain the Thermal Torpedo ability, which destroys the weapon systems on an enemy ship for a period of time. Shizawa will eventually enter the battlefield in his diminutive fighter craft. Don’t let it’s tiny hull fool you, this little beast is able to cripple even the biggest of ships. In addition to being completely immune to missiles and torpedoes, he can lay deadly mines that cripple enemy engines and weapon systems. Not only that, but his ship is fast a extremely hard to hit.
Commandress Vairuhn
Tactics: Anti-personnel
Leader Bonus:
- Cluster Volleys do increased damage against enemy crew
- Ricochet Torpedo replaced by Hijack Squads
- Radiation burst is pre-purchased
Background: A prideful and competitive young Zevestivan, Vairuhn is the leader of the Empire’s infantry and is responsible for plotting out ground invasions. She hates ranged weapons, and always fights melee. She thinks of war as a game, and like most of her species enjoys the thrill of outsmarting an enemy… but more importantly mauling their face off.
Strategy: What good is a ship if there is no one on board to operate it? Vairuhn despises space combat, and from that hatred she’s devise unique tactics to deal with it. Killing the enemy crew and leaving the enemy fleet nothing but derelicts is the name of the game for her. In addition her Bruzer’s gain the Hijack Squad ability, letting her potentially capture enemy ships for her use. Being able to turn the enemy’s weapons against them is always a major advantage. Vairuhn will enter battle in her own unique ship, the
Nol Vairuhn. Armed with all sorts of anti personnel weapons and boarding pods, her ship is a mobile APC ready to clean out the crews of enemy fleets.
